These 3D Files were constructed from our Florentine Bender - Guitar that we have in the Luthier Tool Plans section of our site. You will find that these files will provide a top level of convenience to customers who possess a CNC router, or access to CNC routing services.
This bender allows you to accurately bend the side for the florentine cutaway, which is a very beautiful addition to your build. In order to use this bender follow the procedure detailed below:
Bend the side on the standard form insert. The lower bout retainer should be completely bent as normal. The Upper Bout should only be bent about 1/2 to 2/3 around the curvature of the upper bout.
Remove the bend side after a few days. Cut off the side slightly longer than the point of the cutaway.
Place the Florentine Bender with the approprite radius into the side bending machine. Note that the base of the Florentine Bender screws down the to bender without making an modifications. The Upper Portion of the Florentine Bender slips onto the 3/8" Plywood of the Waist Retainer. Bolt into place.
Make your sandwich into the sandwich and make sure the grain pattern is correctly aligned with the guitar side. Bend the side by using the press screw and seat the sandwich fully into the receiving half of the bender.
