L5 CES Single Cutaway 3D CNC Files

General Information:

These 3D Files were constructed from our popular L5 CES Single Cutaway files and 2D CNC files that we have in the plan section of our site. You will find that these files will provide a top level of convenience to customers who possess a CNC router, or access to CNC routing services.

We offer our L5 plans either as a complete set or individual pieces (5) pieces total. if you don’t need the entire guitar. For instance if you only wish to carve the top and back plates you can purchase the files to do that.

All these 3D CNC files are formatted in STEP format (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data). Most 3D CNC controller software should handle this popular formatting. STL format for all files is also included.

The available files are detailed below:

L5 CES SingleCut Top-Back:

This file consists of (4) separate files.

1. A 3D contoured mech of the top plate, including the arching of the underside of the top. This file does not have any cutouts of f holes or pickup holes..

2. This file is similar to the file above, plus it includes only the f-hole cut-outs and neck relief cutout. This will benefit customers who wish to make an L5 without any electronics, including pickups, control knobs etc.

3. This file includes all the information included in the above (2) files plus pickup cutouts, control pot holes and switch hole.

4. The last and final file contains all the arching mech for the top arch and underside arch information for the back plate.

L5 CES SingleCut Top Braces:

This file includes the top braces, including scaloping information and proper interface with top arching assuring an accurate fit of the braces to the top underside arch

L5 CES SingleCut Sides & Blocks:

This file includes the head and tail blocks and the contoured block at the cutaway area. The head block includes the dovetail joint for the neck. The sides are shown at correct height and bending and the dovetail joint for the neck connection.

L5 CES SingleCut Neck:

This file will give you a smooth 3D file of the neck contour, heel contour, dovetail joint attachment to the headlock, complete peg head contour in the Gibson tradition, tuner holes, bushing recesses, truss rod channel and truss rod adjustment nut access in the head. Also the fretboard support which extends over the top plate is faithfully reproduced.

L5 CES SingleCut Fretboard:

This file will contain the proper fretboard outline perimeter, fretboard radius (12") fretboard recesses for the MOP Inlays and fret slots for the proper scale. (.023"; .58mm wide). Also the headpiece overlay and flowerpot MOP headpiece decoration in included. Fret tops and tangs are included only for clarity as separate layers.
