F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin 3D CNC Files

General Information:

These 3D Files were constructed from our popular F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin Plans and 2D CNC files that we have in the plan section of our site. You will find that these files will provide a top level of convenience to customers who possess a CNC router, or access to CNC routing services.

We offer our F5 Mandolin Files either as a complete set or individual pieces (4) pieces total. if you don’t need the entire instrument. For instance if you only want the Neck, you can purchase the files to mill the neck.

Note that all hardware including tuners, frets, purfling, bindings, screws, truss rod, and sides are not a part of these files and are shown for illustration purposes.

All these 3D CNC files are formatted in STEP format (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data). Most 3D CNC controller software should handle this popular formatting. Now also included with every download are STL (Stereolithography) files for your convenience.

The available files are detailed below:

F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin Plate Set:

This file consists of (1) file with (4) components.

1. The top plate is carefully contoured to the proper shape with f-holes cut into top. The underside of the top is cut out to match the plans. Note: Top does not include any geometry for bindings or purfling.

2. The second top plate is similar to the (1) above with the exception of elimination of the f-holes.

3. Back Plate. Carved in a similar manner to (2) above except mirrored to properly align the scroll and points below the top.

4.  Top Braces: Bass and Treble braces are contoured to the top plate undercut. Final shaping shall be done by hand.

F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin Neck Set:

This file will give you a smooth 3D file of the neck contour, heel contour, Dovetail Joint attachment to the headblock, complete peg head contour, tuner holes, bushing recesses, truss rod channel and access in the headpiece. This set also includes the headpiece overlay, both plain and inlayed and the inlay model.

F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin Block Set:

This file consists the Block set, which includes the fretboard support block and side detail blocks, headblock and point blocks.

F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin Fretboard & Pickguard:

This file will contain the proper fretboard outline perimeter, fretboard recesses for the MOP Inlays and fret slots for the proper scale. (.023"; .58mm wide). Fret tops and tangs are included only for clarity as separate layers. This set also includes the Pickguard models.
